League recap: Centennial stuns Lambert in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Lambert, who took down 67th ranked Lambert, 26-7.

Centennial moved up to 260 from 310 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAAAAA Region 6. The Knights were able to make the jump by besting the Longhorns 26-7.

A.J. Erdely and Jake Wieczorek gave West Forsyth a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Erdely threw for 136 yards and one touchdown, while Wieczorek ran for 187 yards. Erdely also contributed to the rushing game with 141 yards on the ground.

Skye Overton provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Johns Creek lost to the Wolverines. He completed 15 passes for 224 yards and also ran for 162 yards. Overton's favorite target this week was Bradon Fortin, who caught five passes for 81 yards.

Hunter Belue made the biggest impact on defense this week as West Forsyth bested the Gladiators. The 6-foot-2 strong safety pulled down two interceptions.

6-foot-3 quarterback Josh Dobbs of Alpharetta is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1238. He has also thrown nine touchdowns. On the ground, Johns Creek's Overton has rushed for 593 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Christian Robinson. The Centennial star has 33 catches for 529 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Gladiators take on Lambert. As it stands, Johns Creek is in third, while the Longhorns are in second.

Chattahoochee was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in AAAAAA Region 6. The Cougars beat South Forsyth 28-24 earlier in the week.
