Softball Recap: Solorio Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Solorio came out on top against Julian on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Sun Warriors never let the Jaguars get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The Sun Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.

Solorio let Liliana Ramirez and Jazlyne Malaga run wild. Ramirez got on base in both of her plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs, while Malaga went a perfect 1-for-1 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave Ramirez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anahi Valladares, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one RBI.

Solorio always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .514 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Solorio's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Julian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Solorio beat the Jaguars by a score of 1-0 later that day.
