Genie Mcghee and Leslie Hames secure win for Decatur Heritage Christian Academy

With a playoff game on the line, the Decatur Heritage Christian Academy Eagles rose to the challenge on Friday. They strolled past the Golden Bears with points to spare, taking the game 67-49. Winning may never get old, but Decatur Heritage Christian Academy sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy was led to victory by Genie Mcghee and Leslie Hames. Mcghee dropped a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds, while Hames almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. Mcghee is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played. Katelyn Cooper was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season. As for Lexington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-12.

Decatur Heritage Christian Academy will take on Whitesburg Christian Academy at 3:00 a.m. on Thursday. Decatur Heritage Christian Academy is coming into the matchup with five straight wins on the road, so Whitesburg Christian Academy is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. Lexington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
