Softball Preview: Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders vs. Lyons Lions

The Palmyra-Macedon Red Raiders will challenge the Lyons Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addi Gendron, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Shelby Geer was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Palmyra-Macedon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wayne only managed five hits.

On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Weber was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those five hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Addison VanLare was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and six RBI. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rylee Richardson, who went 4-for-5 with four stolen bases, four runs, and three doubles.

Lyons pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
