Soccer Game Preview: Valley View vs. Moreno Valley

The Valley View Eagles will take on the Moreno Valley Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for Valley View's offense. They came up short against Arlington on Friday, falling 4-0. Valley View have struggled against Arlington recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Moreno Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Coyotes a 1-0 shutout. Given Moreno Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Orange Vista are ranked 588th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Moreno Valley's victory bumped their record up to 11-5-4. As for Valley View, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 11-5-4.
