Basketball Recap: Silverdale Academy Now 6-2 over Last Eight Games

Silverdale Academy won the last time they faced Baylor, and Ella Canter did her part to make sure it happened again. The Silverdale Academy Seahawks snuck past the Baylor Red Raiders with a 57-53 win on Monday thanks in part to Canter, who went 11 of 21 en route to 30 points. Those 30 points gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kinsley Owen, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 11 points along with eight assists and seven steals. Owen is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Silverdale Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.1 points per game. As for Baylor, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Silverdale Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-22 victory against Collegedale Academy on the 21st. As for Baylor, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-27 defeat against Webb on the 21st.
