Basketball Game Preview: Butler County Bears vs. Edmonson County Wildcats

The Butler County Bears will take on the Edmonson County Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Butler County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Edmonson County likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Butler County earned a 79-72 win over Allen County-Scottsville.

Ty Price was his usual excellent self, en route to 37 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Butler County's points. Trever Deweese was another key player, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards.

Meanwhile, Edmonson County earned an 80-67 victory over Campbellsville on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Butler County has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.5 points over those games. Edmonson County's victory bumped their record up to 12-8.

Butler County took their win against Edmonson County in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 88-68. The rematch might be a little tougher for Butler County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
