Football Recap: Preble Shawnee Starts Season with Win Against Madison

Preble Shawnee had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down the Madison Mohawks 35-18 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Arrows' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the Mohawks are ranked 486th).

Brody Morton was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 88 yards and one TD on only nine carries, and also threw for 119 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing one fumble, making eight total tackles, and defending one pass. A healthy portion of Morton's aerial production (104 yards to be exact) went to Caleb Blankenship, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Preble Shawnee wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 34-8 win against Ansonia on the 29th. As for Madison, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 27-6 defeat against Madeira on the 29th.
