Worth County/Northeast Nodaway extended their winning streak to eight on Friday, bumping them up to 8-1. They took down the King City Wildkats 36-22. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

One reason for the win was Worth County/Northeast Nodaway's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Sawyer Thurman was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.

As for King City, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

King City's loss came despite strong showings from Landon Carlson and Ryder Sample. Carlson threw for 219 yards and three touchdowns, while Sample picked up 119 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Sample also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making nine total tackles in addition to snagging two interceptions.

Worth County/Northeast Nodaway does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for King City, they will challenge Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildkats will be up against the Tigers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 63 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
