Basketball Game Preview: Newman Smith Trojans vs. Highland Park Scots

The Newman Smith Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Highland Park Scots at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Newman Smith is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-58 heartbreaker at the hands of Reedy.

Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Highland Park's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a hard 74-59 fall against The Colony.

Newman Smith's loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Highland Park, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 23-5.
