Basketball Recap: Jazleen Bautista's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Jefferson over Johnsburg

Jefferson saw some tournament action on Monday. They took a hard 51-35 fall against the Johnsburg Skyhawks.

Several J-Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jazleen Bautista, who posted 12 points. That's the most points Bautista has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Abbie Bracius, who earned eight points.

Jefferson has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season. As for Johnsburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Jefferson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-22 defeat against Maine East on the 20th. Johnsburg has also already played their next matchup, a 39-38 win against Woodstock on the 20th.
