Softball Recap: Ramona Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Ramona's offense. They came up short against the Mission Bay Buccaneers on Saturday, falling 9-0. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buccaneers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Ramona saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evie Brown, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. The dominant performance gave Brown a new career-high in stolen bases. Savanna Rhea also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Ramona is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4-1. As for Mission Bay, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Ramona will be playing in front of their home fans against Escondido Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Escondido Charter is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Mission Bay, they will take on Coastal Academy in a tournament on Thursday.
