Baseball Recap: St. Anthony's Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

St. Anthony put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the St. John's Prep Red Storm 12-2.

Michael Clare tossed a big game, tossing 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Adrian Tavarez was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady DiMitrio, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

St. Anthony's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for St. John's Prep, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coming up, St. Anthony's will face off against Holy Cross at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for St. John's Prep, they will welcome Xaverian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. St. John's Prep is facing Xaverian at the right time seeing as Xaverian is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
