Soccer Game Preview: Wren vs. Emerald

The Wren Hurricanes will challenge the Emerald Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wren has four straight victories, Emerald has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Wren is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 5-1 margin over Belton-Honea Path on Tuesday. With the Hurricanes ahead 4-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Emerald didn't have quite enough to beat Dixie on Monday and fell 3-2.

Caiden Hedrick and Daniel Duran Ibarra scored both of Emerald's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Emerald now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Wren, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Wren skirted past Emerald 1-0 when the teams last played last Monday. Will Wren repeat their success, or does Emerald have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
