Softball Recap: Trinity Classical Academy Comes Up Short

Trinity Classical Academy extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-10. They lost 10-0 to the Santa Clarita Christian Cardinals. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 17-7.

As for Santa Clarita Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-7. Considering they have won four matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Santa Clarita Christian's part, Presley Waldron was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Waldron has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Aubrey Moore was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases and four runs. Another player making a difference was Emerson Maymo, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Coincidentally, Trinity Classical Academy and Santa Clarita Christian will both be playing Vasquez the next time they take the field. The Cardinals will host the Mustangs at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Knights will head out to face them at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
