Baseball Game Preview: North Kansas City Hornets vs. Liberty Blue Jays

The North Kansas City Hornets will venture away from home to take on the Liberty Blue Jays at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. North Kansas City's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four games, but Monday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Friday, North Kansas City came up short against Park Hill South and fell 5-1.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Liberty duked it out with Blair Oaks on Saturday. The Blue Jays never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Considering the Blue Jays have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Liberty has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for North Kansas City, their loss dropped their record down to 5-20.

North Kansas City suffered a grim 17-1 defeat to Liberty in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
