Softball Game Preview: Paradise Valley Trojans vs. Verrado Vipers

For the second straight game, Paradise Valley will face off against Verrado. The Trojans will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Vipers at 3:45 p.m. Paradise Valley has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight defeats, while Verrado will come in with five straight victories.

Things were looking good for Paradise Valley after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 17-2 to Verrado.

For Verrado's part, Nevaeh Romero was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave Romero a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Marchese, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Verrado pushed their record up to 23-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Paradise Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
