Mountain View had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 5-9 to make it four. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kelso Hilanders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hilanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 back in April.

As for Kelso, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games.

On Kelso's side, Paityn Mackin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up 18 Ks.

On the hitting side, Karmynn Petrisor was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
