Lake Creek can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They put the hurt on the Brenham Cubs with a sharp 43-23 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Lions have posted since November 15, 2024.

Lake Creek's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 8-14. As for Brenham, they dropped their record down to 11-15 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
