Baseball Recap: Parsippany Drops Highest Score of Season Against Whippany Park

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Parsippany). They put the hurt on the Whippany Park Wildcats with a sharp 15-5 win on Wednesday. This was payback for the Redhawks, who suffered a 10-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Mason Almeda made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Almeda was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Joe Fucci was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Matthew Parker was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Parsippany always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Parsippany's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-3. As for Whippany Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Parsippany will head out to square off against West Morris Mendham at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Redhawks are facing the Minutemen at the right time seeing as the Minutemen are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Whippany Park, they are taking a road trip to face off against Jefferson Township at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
