Softball Recap: Boyd Extends Home Winning Streak to 12

With a playoff win on the line, Boyd rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Mount Vernon Tigers a 1-0 shutout. The win was familiar territory for the Yellowjackets, who have now won seven contests in a row.

Boyd's victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-4-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mount Vernon, they moved to 27-6-1 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Boyd will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Thursday.
