Volleyball Recap: Eldon's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Father Tolton on Wednesday, Eldon came back down to earth. The Mustangs took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Willard Tigers on Saturday. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Tigers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Eldon was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-17.

Eldon's loss ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7. As for Willard, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-5-2 record this season.

Coincidentally, Eldon and Willard will both be playing Carthage the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will head out to face the Tigers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Tigers will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
