The Strasburg Rams will head out to take on the Clarke County Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Strasburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Strasburg will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run last Friday, then bounced right back against Madison County on Tuesday. The Rams never let the Mountaineers get on the board and left with a 17-0 win. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Olivia Moxley and Brynna Wiseley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Moxley tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Wiseley tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up a single hit in 11 consecutive appearances. At bat, Moxley went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Wiseley went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most runs Moxley has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Strasburg let Hannah Merriner and Caitlyn Freeman run wild. Merriner went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Freeman went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Freeman a new career-high. Chelsea Stine was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Clarke County's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-0 to Millbrook, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Clarke County's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Strasburg, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.
Everything went Strasburg's way against Clarke County when the teams last played back in April, as Strasburg made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
