Bayfield had a senior duo take command as Cooper Roderick went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 30 points and four steals and Lincoln Williams almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine assists. Williams has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 26 times he's played. Vincent McCullough was another key player, putting up six points and nine rebounds.
Bayfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, San Juan came up short against Duchesne on Saturday and fell 49-42. The defeat continues a trend for the Broncos in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.
Bayfield will need focus on slowing down Cole Duke, one of several San Juan players who made an impact when they last played. He went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jagger Nieves, who posted nine points and six rebounds.
Bayfield pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for San Juan, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Bayfield has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 34 boards per game. However, it's not like San Juan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
