Baseball Recap: Calumet Beats Okarche for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Calumet had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Okarche Warriors. For the Chieftains, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Calumet's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Okarche, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Calumet will square off against Fort Cobb-Broxton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Okarche, they will be playing at home against Dibble at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Demons' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
