Basketball Recap: Sunset Bison vs. White Longhorns
Sunset lost against White back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sunset Bison took a blow against the White Longhorns, falling 106-37. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1324th, while the Longhorns are ranked 208th).
Jamison Thrower continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for White, going 9 for 11 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards. That's the most assists Thrower has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Keayon Gahagan, who went 7 of 11 en route to 21 points.
Sunset has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season. As for White, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-7.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Adamson the next time they take the court. White will head out to face Adamson at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Sunset will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
