Greenview waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Illini Central Cougars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Greenview not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Illini Central between 15 and 17 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-17.

Greenview's offense was headlined by Gracie Haynes-Garcia and Macie Willis, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Alyvia Morrow and her 15 assists. Haynes-Garcia was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

When it comes to explaining why Illini Central lost, don't look at Morgan Peterson. Despite the final result, she had nine digs and two aces.

Greenview now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Illini Central, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Greenview and Illini Central could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Bulldogs (ranked 379th) will meet Warrensburg-Latham (ranked 144th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Illini Central will take on Olympia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (594 vs. 251).
