Soccer Recap: Collierville Falls Short Against Ranked Memphis University School

Collierville faced Memphis University School in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Dragons fell just short of the Owls by a score of 2-1. One reason for the loss might be Collierville's aggressive play style: three Collierville players were handed yellow cards.

Their goal came courtesy of Samir Cox, who's now up to two this season.

Collierville's loss dropped their record down to 9-3-1. As for Memphis University School, they pushed their record up to 4-0-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Collierville will head out on the road to square off against Arlington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give Collierville their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Memphis University School, they will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against Memphis Business Academy at 5:00 p.m.
