Hopkins had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Lakers by a score of 2-0. The Vikings were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Lakers, so the Vikings were just returning the favor.

This is the second loss in a row for Our Lady of the Lake Catholic and nudges their season record down to 1-3-1.

Hopkins will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Godwin Heights at 7:00 p.m. on September 4. The match will give the Vikings their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Our Lady of the Lake Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 1-0 win against Hartford on the 23rd.
