Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Eastlake

Eastlake won the last time they faced Coronado and things went their way on Monday too. The Eastlake Titans walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Coronado Islanders. The win was familiar territory for the Titans, who have now won three games in a row.

Nick Romero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Austin Stroberg and Hamza Hatahet did most of the damage at the plate: Stroberg scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Hatahet scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. That's the most hits Stroberg has posted since back in March of 2024.

Eastlake's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Coronado, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Eastlake will challenge Scripps Ranch at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eastlake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Coronado, they will square off against Granite Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Granite Hills will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Coronado surely won't give up without a fight.
