Basketball Recap: Rural Vista [Hope/White City] Takes a Loss

After flying high against Douglass last Saturday, Rural Vista [Hope/White City] came back down to earth. The Rural Vista [Hope/White City] Heat were outmatched by the Wabaunsee Chargers and fell 64-37. While losing is never fun, the Heat can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Chargers are ranked 106th).

Rural Vista [Hope/White City]'s defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Liliana Stilwell, who posted 13 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Schlesener, who earned 12 points.

Rural Vista [Hope/White City]'s loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Wabaunsee, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3-1.

Rural Vista [Hope/White City] will face off against Peabody-Burns at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wabaunsee has already played their next matchup (against Lyndon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
