Baseball Game Preview: Loomis Chaffee School Pelicans vs. Kent School Lions

The Loomis Chaffee School Pelicans will head out to challenge the Kent School Lions at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Loomis Chaffee School will be strutting in after a victory while Kent School will be coming in after a defeat.

Loomis Chaffee School took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Choate Rosemary Hall School a 3-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Kent School lost 11-1 to Trinity-Pawling School on Wednesday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Loomis Chaffee School's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Kent School, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Loomis Chaffee School beat Kent School 8-4 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Pelicans repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
