Baseball Game Preview: Cedar Creek Eagles vs. Bastrop Bears

The Cedar Creek Eagles will square off against the Bastrop Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Cedar Creek fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Bastrop on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 6-5.

For Bastrop's part, Francisco Arriaga made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Arriaga was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.

Arriaga wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Val Regalado, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Regalado hit this season.

The win made it two in a row for Bastrop and bumps their season record up to 6-9. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Cedar Creek, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8.
