Basketball Recap: Alex Howze's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northwestern over Nation Ford

Northwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 48-26 to the Nation Ford Falcons . The Trojans were probably out for revenge after losing 41-24 to them when the teams met back in December of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Northwestern's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Howze, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalyn Jones, who posted seven points and eight rebounds.

Northwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Nation Ford, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Northwestern didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-43 win against Chester on the 21st. Nation Ford and Etowah will round out the year against one another at at 6:15 p.m. on December 27th. Etowah is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season.
