Basketball Recap: Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Comes Up Short

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe was the 85-79 winner over Union County when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe Warriors took a 77-61 bruising from the Union County Panthers on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Panthers are ranked 81st).

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Union County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-49 victory against Coahulla Creek on the 15th. As for Union County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 76-58 defeat against North Cobb Christian on the 15th.
