Basketball Recap: Benjamin Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Benjamin had lost six straight headed into Friday's game, but Marlee Schwab didn't let it get to seven. The Benjamin Buccaneers put the hurt on the Forest Hill Falcons with a sharp 52-26 win on Friday thanks in part to Schwab, who went 8 of 14 on her way to 19 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023.

The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Smith, who posted eight points and nine rebounds. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games.

Benjamin's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Forest Hill, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Benjamin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-11 win against Sports Leadership & Management on the 11th. As for Forest Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-19 defeat against Atlantic Christian on the 10th.
