Baseball Recap: Wakefield's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Wakefield can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Yorktown Patriots. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Patriots two weeks ago, they had to take a 9-3 loss.

Cort Bringham was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Joseph Todd, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Wakefield's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Yorktown, they moved to 7-3 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wakefield will challenge George C. Marshall at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors are facing the Statesmen at the right time seeing as the Statesmen are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Yorktown, they will face off against Wakefield School at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
