The Williams Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to face off against the Winters Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Williams has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with five straight defeats, while Winters will come in with seven straight victories.

On Friday, Williams was beaten by Maxwell 49-21. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 809th, while the Panthers are ranked 398th).

The losing side was boosted by Ricardo Medina, who rushed for 77 yards and one score, and also picked up 36 receiving yards.

Winters hadn't beaten Pierce on the road since October 19, 2018 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Warriors blew past the Bears 31-10. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 24-3.

Williams better keep an eye on Lane Brown. He was instrumental in Winters' win, rushing for 203 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 66 yards and one touchdown. Brown's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards. EJ Cruz was in the mix as well, providing Winters with two scores.

Winters was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 313 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Williams' record now sits at 3-7. As for Winters, their record is now 9-1.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Williams has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 187 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Winters struggles in that department as they've been averaging 228.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Williams was taken down by Winters 42-0 in their previous matchup back in September of 2023. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
