Volleyball Recap: Heath Comes Up Short

If Heath was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Lakewood on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs lost 3-0 to the Newark Catholic Green Wave on Thursday. The shutout was out of character for the Bulldogs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-9, 25-15.

Marley Morris paced Heath's offense, picking up seven kills. Morris got some help from Ansley Harbage and her nine assists. Finally, Morris was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Heath's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Newark Catholic, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0.

Looking ahead, Heath will host Granville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Newark Catholic, they are taking a road trip to face off against Tuscarawas Central Catholic at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
