Baseball Recap: Morgan Academy Gets the Win

After losing to Southern Academy the last time they met, Morgan Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Morgan Academy Senators walked away with a 7-3 win over the Southern Academy Cougars on Saturday.

Morgan Academy let Cade Henderson and Speedie Pernell run wild. Henderson scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Pernell scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

The victory got Morgan Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Southern Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Looking ahead, Morgan Academy will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Snook Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southern Academy, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cougars face off against the Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southern Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
