Softball Recap: East Bernard Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

It's playoff time, and East Bernard had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Lexington Eagles 4-3. Winning may never get old, but the Brahmas sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Rylie Holder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 19 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, East Bernard's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Viktorin, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

East Bernard pushed their record up to 26-8 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lexington, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-8-2.

East Bernard will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
