Softball Game Preview: Farmersville Aztecs vs. Tranquillity Tigers

The Farmersville Aztecs will take on the Tranquillity Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Farmersville has eight straight victories, Tranquillity has 22 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Farmersville barely beat Lindsay the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Farmersville was the clear victor by a 13-3 margin over Lindsay on Thursday. Considering the Aztecs have won six matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Tranquillity scored the most runs they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against Laton, falling 24-7.

Farmersville pushed their record up to 8-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Tranquillity, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Farmersville took their win against Tranquillity when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 29-14. Will Farmersville repeat their success, or does Tranquillity has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
