Recap: Edison Chargers vs. Monroeville Eagles

The Edison Chargers pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Monroeville 64-58. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), Edison still had to take the loss.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cole Leimeister, who scored 13 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Coltyn Meagrow, who shot 4-for-5 from long range and dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Edison were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Edison has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Monroeville, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edison will take on Clyde at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clyde is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses. As for Monroeville, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Western Reserve at 7:30 p.m.
