Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Lindsay Lane Christian Academy's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lindsay Lane Christian Academy had no problem doing just that on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Lexington Golden Bears. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by seven runs or more this season.

Leigha Carder made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lily Jackson was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Lydia Carter was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Lindsay Lane Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-8-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Lexington, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-15.

Coincidentally, Lindsay Lane Christian Academy and Lexington will both be playing Tharptown the next time they take the field. The Golden Bears will host the Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Lions will host them on Tuesday.
