Baseball Recap: Cliffside Park Takes a Loss

Cliffside Park fell victim to Hackensack and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comets. The Red Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Comets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2018.

Matthew Padron was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April.

Cliffside Park dropped their record down to 9-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Hackensack, the victory got them back to even at 10-10-1.

Coming up, Cliffside Park will challenge Wood-Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hackensack, they will host St. Mary at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
