Northeastern is a perfect 9-0 against Pasquotank County since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Northeastern will be strutting in after a victory while Pasquotank County will be coming in after a defeat.

Northeastern proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 25) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 14-13 win over Martin County. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three contests in a row.

Meanwhile, Pasquotank County was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 34-33 to Currituck County. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Panthers, who until this game were averaging 10.44 points allowed.

Northeastern will need to focus on slowing down Jayon Harris, one of several Pasquotank County players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 49 yards and two scores. An impressive showing, but Harris really ramped things up playing D: he made nine total tackles and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Pasquotank County's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3. As for Northeastern, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Everything came up roses for Northeastern against Pasquotank County in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-12 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Harris, who rushed for 121 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Eagles still be able to contain Harris? There's only one way to find out.
