Baseball Recap: Harvest Community Starts Season with Victory at Home

Harvest Community gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the ED White Commanders, sneaking past 16-15. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Commanders: they've now won three in a row.

Eli Gammage was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Gammage was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joe Oliver, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. Ethan Wood was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-5.

ED White's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Harvest Community didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 16-0 defeat against Old Plank Christian Academy on the 14th. As for ED White, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 25-6 loss against Paxon School For Advanced Studies on the 19th.
