Volleyball Recap: Weyauwega-Fremont Takes a Loss

Weyauwega-Fremont saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes.

While Weyauwega-Fremont was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-23.

McKenna Ferg paced Weyauwega-Fremont's offense, picking up six kills. Ferg got some help from Mariah Baehnman and her six assists.

Fox Valley Lutheran was led to victory by Riley Schmitz and Amara Jahner. Schmitz had ten digs and three aces, while Jahner had three digs and two aces. Schmitz is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Weyauwega-Fremont's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Fox Valley Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Weyauwega-Fremont will face off against Amherst at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fox Valley Lutheran, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Wrightstown on the 20th.
