Baseball Recap: Branford Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Branford won the last time they faced Bell and things went their way on Tuesday too. Branford walked away with a 7-4 win over Bell. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buccaneers.

Patrick Williams was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Williams was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

Williams wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kyler Williamson, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Williamson has posted since back in March of 2024. Another was Colby Beard, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Branford pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Bell, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-5 record.

Branford has already played their next matchup, a 13-4 victory against Dixie County on the 20th. As for Bell, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-2 win against Williston on the 21st.
