Basketball Game Preview: Middle Creek Mustangs vs. Apex Friendship Patriots

The Middle Creek Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Apex Friendship Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Middle Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Middle Creek came up short against Green Hope and fell 66-56. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (55), the Mustangs still had to take the loss.

Middle Creek might have lost, but man, Yasir Hall was a machine: he posted 23 points. The match was Hall's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Greyson Land, who earned 11 points.

Apex Friendship has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 63-58 heartbreaker at the hands of Holly Springs.

Middle Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Apex Friendship, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Middle Creek skirted past Apex Friendship 58-55 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Middle Creek since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
